Description
The forecourt wall and buildings east of Upton Manor consist of a forecourt wall, outbuildings, and a cistern, dating from the early to late 19th century. The deep grassed forecourt features a driveway and a roadside wall made of flint panels and brickwork, which curves inward to a plain gateway. On the south side, there is a two-storey block with a tiled roof that has a half-hipped design at the north end, showcasing an exposed timber frame in the gable, and a hipped roof at the south end. The walls of this block are constructed of brick with flint panels, and the inner face includes a window above a central doorway. Adjacent to this block, bordering the south side of the forecourt, is a single-storey range made of flint and brick, topped with a thatched roof. In the center of the forecourt stands a hexagonal lead cistern, adorned with raised strap-work ornament and dated 1707. This site is included for its group value.
