Description
School House is a building constructed between 1844 and 1845 for the Baring family. It is made of brick featuring diaper patterns with blue brick headers and has an old fishscale tile roof. The structure is one storey high and has an L-shaped layout consisting of a three-bay range, with a projecting bay wing on the right. The central bay contains a planked door beneath a deep lean-to timber porch on the side of the wing. The left bay has a two-light casement window, while the end of the wing features a three-light casement window with a two-light casement above it. All windows are cast-iron diamond pattern casements set under rubbed brick arches. Above the door, there is a similar two-light casement window in a gabled dormer. The ridge between the left two bays has a stack with a pair of diamond shafts, and a similar stack is positioned longitudinally at the junction of the ridges. On the left end, there is a canted bay window with similar casements.
