Description

Russells Cottage is a cottage that dates back to the 16th century, with an 18th-century encasement and a 20th-century extension. It features a timber frame encased in colour-washed brick and has a thatched roof. The building is two storeys high, comprising two bays and a central smoke bay, with an 18th-century lean-to on the left and a 20th-century studio on the right. There is a central porch with a hip roof made of brick and weatherboard, which has a planked door. Each side of the cottage has a three-light casement window, with a two-light casement window above and similar windows in the lean-to. The left lean-to has a 17th-century external projecting stack, while there is another stack at the right end. The roof is half-hipped.
