Description
The Old School is a building that served as both a school and a house, constructed in 1847, as indicated on a tablet. It features squared knapped flint with brick and stone dressings, topped with a slate roof. The structure has a T-shaped plan, consisting of a tall one-and-a-half storey, two-bay house along the road, and a low one-and-a-half storey, two-bay schoolroom that is positioned at right angles to the rear.
The road-facing elevation includes a central large external chimney stack, which is topped by triple brick shafts that are joined at the head. In the right bay, there is a two-light casement window set in a chamfered opening with a label above. The gable walls are kneelered, and on the ends, there are three-light windows that are similar in style, with a two-light window located in the gable above.
