Description
Elizabethan Cottage is a cottage dating back to the 16th century, with alterations made in the 18th and 20th centuries. It is timber-framed with painted brick infill and a shingle roof. The cottage is 1½ storeys and 3 bays wide, featuring an 18th-century hip bay with a lean-to addition to the front, and another bay extending from the side. The front facade includes an early 20th-century timber-frame and brick gabled tile porch in the right-hand bay, with a plank door. A plank door is also located within the lean-to bay on the left. There are two 2-light leaded casement windows within the lean-to, and a single leaded casement window on each side of the right-hand door. A 3-light leaded casement window sits in the centre of the left-hand bay, while a single leaded casement is located in the exposed right-hand centre bay. A flat-roofed dormer window above the centre bay contains a 3-light leaded casement, with a similar 2-light window in the right-hand bay. The roof is hipped to the left and half-hipped to the right, with an external end stack and a ridge stack located between the centre and left-hand bays.
