Description
The Old Rectory is a private house that was originally built in the late 18th century and has been altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. It features chequer brickwork and an old plain tile roof. The building has a square plan with five narrow bays on the front and three wide bays on the sides. There is a single-storey early 19th-century addition at the rear and a 19th-century link to an 18th-century service range behind.
On the entrance side, there is a 19th-century porch on the left with brick corner piers, leading to a 20th-century six-panel door in a heavy frame, which is topped by a semi-circular fanlight and stone copings. To the right, there are five 12-pane sash windows on the first floor, all set under segmental arches. The second floor has short six-pane sashes under similar arches. A moulded timber cornice runs along the top of the building, and the hipped roof features a large ridge stack to the left of the center. The garden front consists of five bays. The interior has been altered.
