Description
The building known as the Folly is a pair of cottages that have been converted into a single cottage. It dates from the late 18th century and early 19th century. The structure is made of rendered cob, brick, and features a flint band addition, topped with a thatched roof. Originally, it was a two-storey, two-bay cottage facing the road, with an additional bay added to one end.
The cottage has a planked door located in a gabled weatherboard and tile porch between the road-facing bays, and another planked door at the far end of the original building. Each bay features an irregular three-light casement window, with a similar three-light casement on the first floor. The roof is hipped and sweeps down to the rear, with a ridge piece. There is a ridge stack positioned above the door and a projecting stack on the far end hip.
