Description
Abbots Manor is a farmhouse dating from the mid-18th century, with possibly an earlier core and 19th-century additions. It is constructed of brick, featuring some blue headers, and has old plain tile roofs. The building is two stories high with a three-bay 18th-century front range that is accompanied by a longer, thinner range at the back, which likely includes the earlier core and a 19th-century addition.
The front of the house has a central door set within a wide glazed gabled porch from the 19th century, above which is a 12-pane sash window. There are also four 16-pane sash windows, all with flush frames and rubbed brick arches, with those in the left bay set in narrowed openings. The building features a toothed cornice, a hipped roof, and projecting end stacks.
To the right, the rear range projects one and a half bays, with a 19th-century single-storey addition beyond it. This addition contains a four-panel door and two- and three-light casements on both floors, along with an end stack that has timbers in the gable.
