Description

Rookery Cottage is a 17th-century cottage that was substantially encased in the 18th century. It is constructed with a timber frame encased in colourwashed brick, and has a thatched roof. The cottage is one-and-a-half storeys high, with three bays and an outshot to the left. A planked door, within a 20th-century porch, is situated between the right-hand bays. To the right is a canted oriel window with three lights. The other bays feature a three-light segmental head casement, a two-light casement between them, and a casement in the outshot. On the first floor, at the right, there is a three-light casement within an eyebrow dormer. To the left, a long eyebrow dormer contains a two-light oriel and a two-light casement. The roof is hipped to the left and includes a ridge piece and a stack above the door.
