Description
Pentons is a house dating from the early 19th century, with a later 20th-century extension designed to match the original style. It is located on Village Street in Chilbolton. The house has brick walls constructed in a Flemish bond pattern, using blue bricks as headers. The ground floor openings are cambered, and the eaves feature brick dentil details above a hipped tile roof. Originally, the front (west-facing) elevation was symmetrical, featuring two storeys and two windows; it has since been extended to the north with the addition of one window. The windows are casement types. A doorway is sheltered by a canopy supported on carved brackets, and it has a 20th-century two-panelled door. The south-facing end elevation, which borders the roadway, shows evidence of a filled-in window and a doorway.
