Description

Poplar Cottage is a long house, likely originally two cottages, dating from the 18th century. It features roughcast walls and a thatched roof. The building is one storey high with an attic and has four windows. The roof is half-hipped at the west end, revealing timber framing in the gable, and there are eyebrows above the upper windows. Some ground floor openings are cambered, while the rear (north) wall is partly rendered and partly made of painted flint. An outshot at the west end is constructed of painted brickwork. The windows are casements, and there is a plain doorway located beneath a thatched hood.
