Description
Nos 133 and 135 on Christchurch Road are a pair of houses built in the mid-18th century, with the date 1743 marked on a plaster panel. The houses have been altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. They are constructed of brick with a rendered front and feature a plain tile roof. The buildings are two stories high and consist of four bays, with a large extension at the rear that was re-roofed in the early 19th century. The front of the houses has two plank doors and six 12-pane sash windows from the 18th century. On the left-hand side of the building, there is a plaster panel high on the wall displaying initials and the date. The roof has a later low pitch and there are end stacks. Inside, some 18th-century features remain, including a fireplace in the right-hand room flanked by segmental-headed cupboards.
