Description

These railings are located in front of No 42, known as Southend House, and date from the mid-19th century. They are made of cast iron balusters set within a timber frame on a concrete base. The railings extend for 10 meters between the road and the front garden. At each end, there are brick walls, with gates positioned in the center. Timber posts mark the ends of each section, featuring a moulded timber rail that runs between them. Above this, there is a Rococo-style cast iron openwork baluster on an iron awning, with finials on the posts. The double gates are designed in a similar style.
