Description
East Close Farm Range is a model farm range that has been converted into two dwellings. It dates from the late 18th century and has been altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of brick and features an old plain tile roof. It is 1½ storeys high and has a layout of 1;3;1;3;1 bays, consisting of two-storey hip-roofed pavilions and link ranges, with various additions at the ends and front.
The south front, which faces the lane, includes a brick and hip-roofed addition on the left-hand end. The left-hand pavilion features an arched recessed panel with a raised band at the first floor level that runs across. The right-hand link has a gabled porch and 12-pane sash windows, with two windows in gabled dormers. The central pavilion is similar, while the right-hand pavilion has a gabled addition in front, which is also mirrored in front of the right-hand bay of the link. The rest of the link projects slightly forward and includes a 19th-century gabled porch, casement windows, and two large 20th-century hipped dormers on the roof.
