Description
Ivy Cottage is a house with a range of farm buildings, dating from the 18th century and 20th century. The upper walls are tile-hung, featuring a scalloped band, while the lower part is made of brickwork, which shows a former doorway that has been converted into a window with leaded casements. The entrance is located at the west end of the house. There are 20th-century extensions at the rear. The range to the east of the house has a tile roof and includes two gabled half-dormers, which were formerly hay loft doors of a barn. The ground floor features two casements, a half-glazed door, and two additional doors near the angle. The long north-south range is constructed of tile and brickwork, with some malmstone in the lower walls and stable openings, topped with a plain tiled roof. The house has a lower range of buildings to the east that turn southwards, forming an L-shape. The east front is two storeys high and has a regular arrangement of four windows.
