Description
The building is a studio located 110 meters south-southwest of Fryern Court, dating from 1901 as indicated on the chimney stack. It features a timber-frame construction with plaster infill and roughcast on a brick plinth, topped with a plain tile roof. This tall, single-storey studio consists of one large room, flanked by verandahs on each side and at one end.
The north elevation, which faces the house, boasts a large 5-light mullioned and transomed north light window, with close studding visible in the gable above. The roof has outshots on each side, with the northern end featuring a hipped outshot that extends over the verandah on either side of the gable. On the west side, the outshot covers an aisle room, which includes a louvred window opening to the left, with a weatherboarded section in the center and a doorway to the right. A tall moulded brick stack rises from the aisle. The east side has a verandah that continues under the outshot. The south side features a hipped roof that sweeps down, with a louvred window at the end of the western aisle room and the remainder of the end being the verandah. A small goblet adorns the top of the hip.
Inside, the studio includes boarded panelling, plain architraves around the doors, and a chimney breast with a round-headed opening and a mantelshelf above.
