Description
This milestone, dating from the mid-18th century, is located opposite the junction with the track to Kites Nest Farm in Damerham. It is a tall standing stone with a square plan and a hipped top. The front face features an inscription that reads: 'XIX Miles from Poole Gate, III Miles from Cranborn.' This stone marks the old turnpike route from Salisbury to Poole, passing through Cranborn and Wimborne.
