Description
The building at 5 and 5A King Street comprises a pair of early 19th-century houses, now divided into three dwellings. The symmetrical front elevation faces northeast and features four windows over three storeys. It has a low-pitched hipped roof with wide eaves and decorative edge mouldings supported by plain brackets. The walls are constructed of yellow/pink brick in a Flemish bond, with rubbed flat arches over the first-floor windows, rubbed round arches over the ground-floor arcade, and flat arches over the recessed openings. Stone sills are present, and a plinth runs along the base. The windows are sash windows set in reveals. Doorways are recessed at each end and feature a Doric porch with a cornice frieze, fluted columns, architraves, and a six-panelled door above two stone steps. The side walls are rendered.
