Description
This is an 18th-century barn located to the west of the farmhouse at Palace Gate Farm, on the north side of Odiham High Street. The barn is a timber-framed structure of five bays, with a later inserted floor. Its design is unusual, featuring a narrow nave and two aisles. The roof structure includes a collar below the purlins, horizontal beams between the posts and eaves, and diagonal struts extending from the mid-wall point to the upper parts of the posts. The barn has a low brick base wall and a brick wall reaching eaves level on the west side, which returns for a short length on the north gable. The roof is covered in red tiles, and the walls are weatherboarded.
