Description

The barn north-west of Priory Farmhouse dates from the 18th century and features a timber frame consisting of eight bays, with aisles and entrances located at the third and sixth bays. An additional lower unit has been added across the east end. The barn has a tile roof that is half-hipped at the west end, hipped above the cantilevered roofs of the entrances on the south side, and gabled above the projecting doors on the north side. At the east end, the gable of the main roof is visible above the hipped treatment of the added bay. Inside, there is a queen post truss with arch braces supporting the purlins and tie-beams, and the frames of each aisle bay rest on brick base walls. The walls are boarded.
