Description
Lyde House is a two-storeyed timber-framed house dating from the 16th and 17th centuries. It features an older central part with later additions at both ends, and the northern side is lower than the rest. The house has an old tiled roof and a central shafted stack. The frame is exposed on three sides, with the south gable being tile-hung down to ground level. The upper part of the house shows painted brick infill and other types of walling. The windows are irregular, with modern casements, except for one small old casement located above the entrance. There is a modern porch with a hipped tiled roof and a modern outshot extending along most of the east side.
