Description
Oak Cottage and Selwood Cottage, dating from the 15th century and later, with early 19th-century external features, are located on the south side of Odiham High Street. The building has a two-storey long facade with a front gable on the west side, originally a medieval hall with a crosswing. The roof is slate, with tiling at the gable, tile-hanging, and some roofing at the rear. The walls are rendered with a plinth.
The first floor features four casement windows, while the gabled part has old sash windows in exposed frames. On the ground floor, there are two well-preserved sash windows in reveals, and at the eastern end, a former shop front displays a cornice, frieze, reeded pilasters, and panes with rounded corners at the top. The doorway to Oak Cottage (No 27) has a solid frame, a plain fanlight, a moulded pediment, and a four-panelled door situated above stone steps. The doorcase for Selwood Cottage (No 29) features an oval arch that encloses a Gothick fanlight, flush-panelled reveals, a six-flush panelled door, panelled pilasters, scroll brackets, a broken entablature, and an open pediment.
