Description
28 and 30 High Street, known as Hellis Cottage and Hellis House, are early 19th-century buildings that incorporate older elements at the rear. Originally three separate dwellings, they have been combined into two two-storey homes with four windows. The buildings feature a red tile roof and rendered walls with a plinth. The windows are casements with square leaded lights, and there are two six-panelled doors in solid frames, each with a thin canopy supported by curved brackets. At the back, No 30 has a large extension, while No 28 has a catslide roof and a massive chimney, along with old sash windows. The east gable displays timber framing in the upper section, along with a first-floor band and plinth.
