Description

Hydegate House is a large timber-framed house dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. It features gabled cross wings at each end, of differing heights. The roof is tiled, with upper gables weatherboarded or tile-hung, and includes two modern, hipped roof dormers. A prominent shafted central chimney stack rises from the centre, and a tapering stack is attached to the south end. The house has an exposed timber frame with red brick infilling and other walling, and casement windows. A large timber-framed porch, with side windows and a weatherboarded door, is at the front. The building has been modernised.
