Description

The Church of All Saints is a Grade II* listed building dating from the 13th century, with elements from the 15th century and modern additions. It features a single cell comprising a nave and chancel, along with a slightly later chapel attached to the south side of the nave. The church includes a modern north vestry and a south porch, while the 15th-century timber-framed belfry rises through the center of the nave. The roof is covered with red tiles, and the bell turret has a pyramid roof with shingles and weather-boarded walling. The walls are roughcast or rendered over a flint and stone core, with the new vestry constructed in red brick.

The windows are original lancets, with a circular light above the two at the east end. There is also a traceried two-light window on the north wall dating from around 1340, a west window from 1862, and restored triple lancets in the east wall of the chapel. The timber-framed porch has a single-slope tile roof, scalloped barge-board, and a panelled side frame above a lower wall.

Inside, the main timber supports for the belfry are arch-braced. There is a late 19th-century chancel arch, a single 13th-century arch leading to the chapel on half-round columns, and a font. The south chapel features an ogee leaded niche above a trefoil piscina and displays a painted Royal Coat of Arms of George IV. The church houses three bells dating from around 1520 that are chimed.
