Description
The Old Schoolhouse is a building dating from the 17th century and 18th century, located on the south side of The Street in Long Sutton. It consists of two parts: the eastern half has two storeys, while the western half is one storey with an attic. The roof is covered with red tiles and is lower on the west side, featuring three small gabled dormers with cills at eaves level. There is a shafted stack at the junction of the two roof levels and a tapered stack at the west end. The building has an exposed frame mainly in the upper part, with brick infill and other walling. The ground floor shows signs of several alterations, the east gable is boarded, and much of the south side is tile-hung. The windows are casements, and there is a modern porch on the south side along with small modern outshots.
