Description

Turnpike Cottage is a 17th-century building that has been altered over time. It is two storeys tall and features a half-timbered design that is exposed on the north and east sides. The roof is covered with red tiles and is half-hipped at the west. A large chimney breast with a stepped stack is attached to the east gable, and there is a catslide roof to the south over later ground floor extensions. The walls are made of painted brickwork with infill in the timber frames. The cottage has casement windows, some of which are old, and a small modern porch.
