Description

Brown's Farm Cottage is a long, two-storey block of cottages dating from the 18th and 19th centuries. The northern half, which is still occupied, features an exposed timber frame. The eastern elevation, built in the early 19th century, has five windows and three doorways arranged with regular spacing. The roof is covered with red tiles. The timber frame is fully exposed on the north gable, showcasing many light members and long diagonal strutting, and it is also visible on half of the west side. The walls include red brick infill laid in Flemish bond, with cambered openings on the ground floor and a plinth. The windows are small casements, and the doors are plain.
