Description

A W Porter & Son, Porter Antiques and C A Porter Ltd is an early 19th-century building located on the south side of High Street in Hartley Wintney. It stands three storeys tall and features four windows. The building has a hipped slate roof and is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, with flat rubbed arches, stone cills, and a plinth. The doorcase is adorned with an open pediment supported by thin pilasters, leading to a round arched entrance with a fanlight and a later door. The ground floor includes three shop fronts, with the northern end (A W Porter & Son) showcasing a well-preserved Victorian facade that has cornice end pilasters, curved tops to the windows, a panelled dado, and detachable shutters.
