Description
The boundary railings at St George's Barracks, extending approximately 300 meters from the Guard House, date back to around 1860. These railings are made of cast iron and feature stone kerbs. They are designed with spear-headed tops and bracketed stanchions. The railings include two sets of gates, which are notable for their piers adorned with connected rings that curve over to support lamps, along with double gates. The gates on Weevil Lane were originally used for the railway that transported Queen Victoria from the station at Clarence Yard to the Isle of Wight.
