Description
Nos 17 to 21 on West Street are a former terrace of cottages dating from the 18th century. They are constructed of painted brick and feature a brick eaves cornice and an old tiled roof. The buildings are two storeys tall. No 17 has two windows, with the western window slightly advanced and consisting of three-light casements. There is one window on the first floor, and the door is set in the facade of No 15, located under a large chimney stack. No 19 features one window with a ground floor canted bay and an adjacent door in a moulded architrave, both situated under a cornice. The windows are sashes with glazing bars. No 21 has two windows, also sashes with glazing bars, and a pediment hood over a plank door with cambered head linings. Nos 17 to 21, along with Harris and Hiscock, Nos 3, the adjoining outbuilding, and Nos 5, 9, and 27, form a group of buildings of local interest.
