Description
Number 9 on West Street is an early 19th-century building, possibly with an older core. It features a painted brick facade with an eaves cornice and a slate roof, standing two storeys high. The front has one window with early 19th-century casements that include glazing bars, and the lower window has a cambered head. The door is framed by a moulded architrave and topped with a pediment hood supported by brackets. To the west, there is a one-storey outshut made of painted brick with an old tiled roof, which has one casement window. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 3, 5, 15 to 21 (odd), and No 27, all located next to each other along the street facade. Harris and Hiscock, along with the outbuilding adjoining No 3, are also noted as buildings of local interest.
