Description
The low boundary walls, memorials, and table tombs in the churchyard of St Peter's Parish Church, located in the old churchyard west of Church Path to Castle Street footpath, date from the 18th and 19th centuries. The churchyard features numerous tombstones and table tombs with low relief carving. It is enclosed by brick and white stone kerbing, which is the base of a former railed wall. The surrounding buildings, including Nos 1 to 11 (odd), the Rectory, Nos 2 and 4, and Nos 10 to 14 (even), form a group with the Parish Church of St Peter and St Paul, as well as the memorials, table tombs, and walls in the old churchyard. Nos 1 and 3 are noted as buildings of local interest.
