Description
The lodge to The Royal Victoria Hospital, located on Victoria Road, was built in 1861. It is a single-storey structure featuring a symmetrical facade with a recessed center and two sets of paired windows on either side. The walls are made of red brick with yellow flush dressings. The facade includes round openings set within coupled arched frames, which are adorned with stone keystones, impost blocks, and cills supported on brackets. There is a recessed panel and a continuous plinth at the base. The roof is hipped and covered with slate, featuring wide eaves supported by coupled brackets above pilasters. A central chimney stack has a cornice on brackets, arches between the flues, and a plinth. The windows are sash types set in reveals.
