Description
The Church of St Edward the Confessor, built in 1886 by J D Sedding, features a long nave with short two-bay aisles at the east end, resembling shallow transepts. At the west end, there is a narthex with a south entrance that leads to two arched openings into the nave. The church has a short chancel and a tower on the south side, which is attached to the aisle. It is topped with a red tile roof and constructed from squared stone with ashlar dressings, complemented by short buttresses, bands, and a plinth. The windows include lancets, a rose window at the west end, and traceried lights in the chapels. The tower is designed in the Perpendicular style.
