Description
Isington Close is a house that dates from the 15th century, with later additions from the 18th century, mid-19th century, and a restoration and minor extension in the 20th century. The building is constructed of brick and tiles and reflects several phases of development, with the earliest timber frame now covered by cladding. The front, or north side, has two storeys and features a symmetrical arrangement of windows, including three upper windows. The west side has a steeply pitched hipped roof with low eaves, while the east side showcases two Victorian gables and a flat-roofed 20th-century extension. The exterior includes painted brickwork, cambered openings, and a plinth, with the gabled section concealing the timber frame. Window types include casements and Victorian sashes in the gabled section, along with a two-storeyed angular bay with three windows on the west side. A central 20th-century half-octagon glazed porch, with tiled cheeks adjacent to the main wall, is also present. The rear, or south elevation, is similar and features an open porch that serves as the main entrance.
