Description

Jayswood Cottage is a cottage dating from the 17th century, with early 19th and 20th-century additions. The north side of the cottage, built in the 19th century, uses brick in a Flemish Garden Wall bond. The south side, constructed in the 20th century, uses stretcher bond. The roof is thatched, with raised eaves above the dormer windows and pantiles covering the 20th-century rear extension. The cottage is a lobby-entrance timber-framed building with extensions added in the 19th and 20th centuries. The south front has one storey and an attic, with three windows and casement frames. A boarded door sits within a plain frame, accessed by an open porch with a thatched roof and rendered walls.
