Description
Eaton Cottage is a cottage dating from the 17th century, with additions and alterations from the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. It features a timber frame with rendered infill, English garden wall bond brick, and a thatched roof. The entrance front has three bays, with cambered-headed window openings on the ground floor that have 20th-century three-light windows inserted. To the left of center is an early 19th-century door with a panelled surround, consisting of six raised and fielded panels, and a segmental porch supported by moulded brackets. The first floor has three gabled dormers, also with three lights. A 20th-century addition is located on the left side. The bay to the left of the front door has a band of bricks two deep between the floors, while the right side features Flemish bond brickwork with yellow headers. The rear of the cottage shows five by two cells of small framing on the left, with angle braces on the left and the fourth upright from the left. There is also a projecting 20th-century gabled wing at the right of center.
