Description
Silver Birches is a house dating from the early 18th century, with early and mid-19th century additions. It is constructed of whitewashed random bond brick and features a thatched roof. The house has two storeys.
On the entrance front, there is a door to the left of centre, framed by a moulded surround and topped with a 19th century gabled porch. To the left of the door, there is an early 19th century two-light horizontally sliding sash window, with three panes in each light. To the right of the door, there is a three-light early 19th century casement window, above which is a two-light gabled dormer. Further to the right, there is an early 19th century extension that includes a tripartite ground floor window, featuring a central light with four panes by four panes, flanked by lateral lights with one pane by four panes each.
At the rear, there is a mid-19th century wing on the right and a 19th century outshut to the left. The right gable end has a cross-window, while the left gable features a horizontally sliding sash window with a cambered head.
