Description
Eaton Smithy is a smithy built around 1850, constructed from red tooled sandstone and featuring a hipped slate roof. It is a single-roomed building that is almost square in shape. The front has a central half heck door with strap-hinges, flanked by window frames that hold single sheets of glass. At the rear, there is a large sliding door and a 2-light casement window. Additionally, there is a half-heck door on the north side of the smithy. Inside, you will find the typical open hearth, anvil, bench, and various smithy fittings. The building is situated at a significant location at the end of the village green, near the village well and the remains of the village stocks.
