Description

The Village Cross, formerly known as Cross Steps, is a structure from the 17th or 18th century located in Rushton on Royal Lane. It is made of red sandstone and features a square stepped base that supports a cross with a square shaft and a rectangular base, which was dated to 1977. The square base is approximately 2 feet deep and has six steps leading up to a square platform where the cross and its base are positioned. Both the cross and the base were restored in 1977.
