Description
The Forge and The Court, also known as Nos 1, 2, and 3, is a Grade II listed building dating from the 17th century and early 19th century. It is an L-shaped block, with the older section facing the roadway to the northwest. This part features one storey and an attic, while the later west elevation has two storeys and four regular windows. The older section has a tile roof with hipped dormers that have cills at eaves level, while the newer part has a low-pitched slate roof. The walls are rendered, with stone cills and a plinth. The windows include sashes in reveals, with 15 upper lights and 20 lower lights, as well as some later casements. There are plain doors beneath canopies supported by carved brackets, and a modern solid porch has been added to the older part.
