Description
The Forge is a forge and cottage built in the early 19th century. It is two storeys high and features two windows. The building is constructed of gault brick and has a slated roof adorned with carved bargeboards and pendant finials. An axial chimney made of gault brick has three hexagonal flues. The windows are framed with splayed limestone, some of which have hood moulds, and are fitted with timber casements that include leaded lights. There is a splayed one-storey bay with a limestone frame and a hipped slated roof. The entrance door, located at the side, is boarded and battened, topped with a limestone lintel that has an arched soffit. At the rear, the forge is a single storey with gault brick and a hipped pantiled roof, featuring original casements and boarded doors.
