Description

The Gables is an estate cottage built around 1840. It has a Y-shaped plan and stands at 1½ storeys with attics. The walls are rough-cast rendered, and the roof is made of concrete pantiles, featuring carved bargeboards. A central chimney made of gault brick has three circular shafts adorned with carved tiles, as well as moulded caps and bases. The plinth includes recessed diaper-pattern tiles. The cottage has 20th-century casements set in 19th-century hood-moulded openings, and the entrance doors are boarded and battened, also with hood-moulds.
