Description

The Cottage, located at 1 The Gildhall, is a cottage dating from around 1800. It features a gable front and is a single storey with one window. The structure is timber-framed and rendered, topped with a thatched roof that has an axial chimney made of gault brick. The bargeboards are decorated with carved soffits. The cottage has 19th-century hood-moulded windows fitted with leaded casements and a boarded and battened entrance door. It is believed to have been the residence of the governor of the nearby Workhouse and has group value with the Gildhall.
