Description

Cedar Cottage is a house dating from around 1850, with a core that likely dates back to the 17th or 18th century. The building is divided into two sections and has one and a half storeys with attics and three windows. It features a timber frame that is rendered, topped with a thatched roof. The house has gault brick chimneys located at the axial and gable ends, which include sunk moulded brick panels with diamond and lunette patterns. Eyebrow dormers with sash windows are present, as well as ground floor sash windows. The entrance door is a four-panelled design with an oblong fanlight, flanked by pilasters and topped with a flat canopy supported by console brackets. The left-hand section of the cottage is likely from the 17th century, while the right-hand section was raised or rebuilt in the 18th century and altered around 1850.
