Description
Dormer Cottage is a 16th-century building with modern additions. It consists of two adjoining timber-framed structures, each featuring a large central chimney, arranged at right angles to one another, along with small modern extensions. The cottage is one storey high with an attic and has irregularly placed windows. The front (east) side has a prominent roof that extends at the south side, showcasing a tile-hung gable with scalloped bands above a jettied first floor. There are three hipped roof dormers with cills at eaves level. The walls are made of red brick in Flemish bond with blue headers and have cambered openings on the ground floor. The south side is rendered and includes a plinth, while the rear displays exposed bricknogged timber framing. The windows are modern casements, and there is a panelled door located beneath a canopy.
