TADLEY SKATES LANE Barn immediately south west of Skates Farmhouse

Barn. Circa C18. Weatherboarded timber-frame on red brick plinth, clay plain tile roof with half-hipped ends. PLAN: 3-bay barn with cart entrance on SE front of centre bay and later outshut on left of SE front. EXTERIOR: SE front has central cart entrance with full-height double doors and lean-to outshut on left. Doorway on NE end. INTERIOR: 3-bay frame with cut jowled wall-posts with straight braces to tie-beams. Tie-beam trusses with raking struts to clasped purlins. Roof complete with common-rafters and ridgeboard. Wall-framing has staggered mid-rails.
