Description
Spring House is a 17th and 18th century timber-framed house featuring a later brick front on the north side. The building is symmetrical, consisting of two storeys and five windows, topped with a hipped thatch roof. The front wall is made of painted brick in Flemish bond, with cambered openings on the ground floor and a plinth. The rear wall reveals exposed timber framing in the upper section, with painted brick infill and other walling. The windows are casements, and there is a six-panelled door, two of which are glazed, set within an architrave and hood. The forecourt is enclosed by high walls that have tiled weathering, which curve down to a lower wall with a plain central opening. The front wall is of brick, while the flanking walls are made of flint with brick quoins and verticals. Internally, the timber frame is exposed.
