Description
Swampton House is an early 18th century L-shaped house located on High Street in St Mary Bourne. It has a regular front (east) elevation featuring two storeys and an attic, with four windows and a half-hipped tile roof. The walls are made of red brick in Flemish bond with blue headers, and there is a first floor band, rubbed flat arches to the ground floor, and a plinth. The windows are mullion and transom casements. The entrance features a six-panelled door, with two top panels glazed, set in a solid frame with a fanlight, and is sheltered by a canopy on brackets. There is also an early 19th century outbuilding that connects to the roadside walling, constructed of red brick with horizontal flint panels and topped with a hipped slate roof.
